On Sunday evening Redruth RFC Club house was full to bursting as over 50 players from across the decades gathered to receive their “Honours Caps”.
In an evening organised by the club, famous players and stalwarts alike were presented with their First XV Honours Cap by club president Mike Beckerleg.
Past players such as Richard Sharp, Paddy McGovan and Michael Downing gathered alongside current players including the present Club Captain Chris Fuca to receive their honour.
The beautiful framed honours caps have been produced by William Porter, a consortium of 3 Cornish businesses who say “like all the best rugby players, the caps were made in Cornwall”.
Cornishman Jack Nowell, the current England winger was due to receive his Redruth Honours Cap and take a hand in the proceedings but was unfortunately called back to Exeter at the last minute and could not attend.
